Areas of Practice

Bankruptcy

Bankruptcy is a legal status that usually lasts for a year and can be a way to clear debts you can't pay. When you're bankrupt, your non-essential assets (property and what you own) and excess income are used to pay off your creditors (people you owe money to). At the end of the bankruptcy, most debts are canceled.

Estates

An estate, in common law, is the net worth of a person at any point in time alive or dead. It is the sum of a person's assets – legal rights, interests, and entitlements to property of any kind – less all liabilities at that time. The issue is of special legal significance on a question of bankruptcy and the death of the person.

SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY

o meet our definition of disability, you must not be able to engage in any substantial gainful activity (SGA) because of a medically determinable physical or mental impairment(s) that is either: Expected to result in death. Has lasted or is expected to last for a continuous period of at least 12 months.

Zoning

Zoning regulates the type of activity that may occur within specific geographic areas of the City. In addition to regulating the use, zoning codes provide direction regarding the placement, spacing, and size of land and buildings.

CRIMINAL DEFENSE

It means knowing and applying statute law, case law, and the rules of criminal procedure, among many other factors, to ensure that the rights of a defendant are preserved under the law.

Personal Injury

Personal injury protection (PIP), also known as “no-fault insurance,” is a component of an automobile insurance plan that covers the healthcare expenses associated with a car accident. PIP covers medical expenses for both injured policyholders and passengers, even if some don’t have health insurance.

If the cost of necessary medical care exceeds the auto insurance policy’s PIP limits, health insurance sometimes covers further expenses. Policies have a per-person maximum, meaning that coverage is limited to a certain amount per person if multiple people are injured in an accident.

Divorce Support Custody

Child custody is often the most contentious aspect of divorce (or separation.) It's no secret that parents battling for rights over their children can be emotional, but it's important to understand what the court will consider when deciding.

Guardianship

Guardianship, also, referred to as conservatorship, is a legal process, utilized when a person can no longer make or communicate safe or sound decisions about his/her person and/or property or has become susceptible to fraud or undue influence. Because establishing a guardianship may remove considerable rights from an individual, it should only be considered after alternatives to guardianship have proven ineffective or are unavailable

Workers Compensation/Injured on the Job

Workers' compensation pays for an injured worker's medical treatment and a portion of their lost wages. State laws require most employers to maintain workers' comp insurance coverage for on-the-job injuries and occupational illness. ... If you've been injured at work, you deserve the maximum amount of compensation.

VETERANS DISABILITY

You may be eligible for VA disability benefits or compensation if you have a current illness or injury (known as a condition) that affects your body or mind and you meet at least one of the requirements listed below.

Both of these must be true. You:

  • Served on active duty, active duty for training, or inactive duty training, and

  • Have a disability rating for your service-connected condition

We must all obey the great law of change. It is the most powerful law of nature.
